Regulator cum bridges

Marymatha is proud to undertake the most challenging projects in critical environmental conditions the major milestone among this is Thanneermukkam Barrage, this prestigious work is envisaged to manage salinity and minimize ecological decay in Vembanad lake. This RCB is the largest mud regulator in India. This challenging task was conceived and awarded to us by Irrigation Department, Government of Kerala. This grand project with a value of Rs.180.00 crores is the third stage of the regulator cum Bridge to transform the middle earthen portion of the already constructed barrage across Vembanad Kayal to RCB. The project is intended to prevent the impact of tidal action and intrusion of salt water from sea to the lake. The total length of the barrage is 1450 meter. This regulator cum bridge partitioning the Vembanad wetland in to a fresh water lake on south and a brackish lagoon on north. The construction of this RCB is by considering the numerous issues on environmental, agricultural, ¬sheries, ecological and socio-economic aspects in Kuttanad area. Another challenging project was Regulator cum Bridge at Pathalam, this is a 64.00 crore project for constructing RCB across Periyar as the name reveals, conceived by the Irrigation department. The total length of the bridge is 180 meter with 14 numbers of 12.6 meter span regulator shutters and 14.5 meter span boat lock chamber. The importance of this project is very vital as River Periyar is the major source for supply of water to various industrial establishments such as FACT, Travancore Cochin Chemicals, Kochi Refineries Ltd. as also for agricultural, domestic and drinking water schemes and that the project work is for preventing intrusion of saline water into Periyar to facilitate drinking water for people around Cochin, Aluva and beyond. Construction of bridge is already completed. Marymatha is executing the Koottakkadavu Bridge cum Regulator project with a cost of 36 crore located at Koottakkadavu, Palakkad it is under the scheme of NABARD- RIDFXX. The project is Construction of a Regulator across Bharathapuzha at Koottakadavu in Anakkara Panchayath, Palakkad District (Civil Works). Another one is Bhoothathankettu Bridge. The construction of bridge across periyar river at Bhoothathankettu is for the safety of old barrage. The traffic will be completely routed through this bridge so the old regulator will be safe. It is a 19 crore project situated in Ernakulam district. The project includes the construction of bridge and approach roads on both sides connecting the existing roads. The execution of the project is under the scheme of Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP). SA Road Bridge is a project for the construction of a ‘Bridge at Elamkulam S.A Road’ on the road connecting Vyttila, and Ernakulam town awarded by KSUDP, Cochin. Mariyil Kalungu Bridge project is of value 5 crores located at Thodupuzha.

Residential sector

Marymatha has been in the residential sector for the past 20 years and recent project in this sector is Valley View Apartments at Ambalamedu. It is the pioneering residential development project by National Building Construction Corporation limited (A Government of India Enterprise). The project offers world class amenities to suit the vivacity of metropolitan life. The total built up area is 48443.4 sq.m within a plot area of 3.18 Acres located at Ambalamedu near FACT. Valley view apartment includes 5 buildings. Three apartments consist of silt + 9 floors and 2 Apartment consist of 2 stilt + 12 floors. The project consists of world class club houses with every international amenity with a total value of Rs.80.78 crores.

Treatment plants

Marymatha is proud being able to construct and commission Kerala’s 3rd largest Water Treatment Plant at Maradu. A prestigious project at Maradu, Kochi under Kerala Water Authority. This JNNURM project is for providing a perfect water supply scheme for Kochi City. The Project includes design, Construction, Commissioning and O/M of the 100 MLD Water Treatment Plant for one year having a total agreed cost of Rs.47 crores.

Education and Health sector

Marymatha has proved to be one of the main contractor in Kerala in setting up various milestones in the Education and Health sector of the state. Bagging the PWD’s largest project ever is one of our milestone achievements. With God’s grace we achieved this 300 crore project. It is the largest package within the Palakkad Medical college campus. The project consists of 3 multi-storied buildings, OPD block, Ward block and OT block. The owner of the project is Kerala SC/ST development department. The project scope includes all MEP works including BMS, Solar panel installation etc., under turnkey basis. Another project is the work of Comparative literature block and Economics block including MEP and finishing works, awarded to us by Rites Ltd. It is a 36 crore project, part of the whole University campus at Periya. Construction of an Agriculture Complex included a multi-storied building (P.U) Department for Agriculture section at Chembukkavu in Trissur District. It was under Kerala Land Development Corporation Ltd., Thrissur.

Green and smart spaces

Marymatha executed the Construction of Central Control Unit Building of KWA. The project envisaged the construction of multi storied central control unit building for Kerala Water Authority. It consisted of RCC framed structure with all MEP and finishing works. It was built as a green and smart building with total 11,100 square meters floor area in jala bhavan campus, vellayambalam, Thiruvananthapuram. The Project amounts to Rs.37 crores.

Harbor

Harbour projects are very rare compared to other sectors. Marymatha has successfully executed the Koilandy Fishery Harbour Project, which was for the construction of a Fisheries harbor at Koilandy, near to Calicut in the State of Kerala. It is a 42.00 crores project awarded by M/s Engineering Projects (India) Limited, a Government of India Undertaking. This project envisaged the construction of the largest breakwater in South Asia for forming the Koyilandy Harbour. It was a challenging work and breakwater projects of such magnitude are very rare in number. The core of the breakwater was constructed by boulders of different sizes and the outer protection layer was constructed using Tetrapods. Another under this sector is Arthungal Breakwater construction, Construction of fisheries harbour in arthunkal in alappuzha district – construction of break waters, warf, auction hall, hygienic arrangements, covered fish loading area, approach road, internal road and parking area. The Project amounts to Rs.50.00 crores awarded by Engineering Projects (India) Ltd.

Commercial Sector

Many commercial projects have been successfully commissioned by Marymatha across the state. Terminal cum shopping complex at Thodupuzha, a Project under Kerala State Road Transport Corporation entrusted with the firm. It is designed along river side as bus terminal with different level parking’s and shopping complex. Another one is the Terminal cum shopping complex Muvattupuzha, This is also a Project under Kerala State Road Transport Corporation. The project scope was dismantling the old terminal building and establishing a new terminal cum shopping complex building. This project plans to give a facelift to the Muvattupuzha city. Another is Construction of Standard Design Factory Building at KSIDC Industrial Growth Centre, Kozhikode. It is a 13.66 crore KSIDC project.

Water supply projects

Many major irrigation projects have been taken up and successfully completed by Marymatha, they are, Over Head Service Reservoirs, a project of the Kerala Government, implemented with the aid of Japan Bank for the drinking water supply in the Taluk of Cherthala in Kerala state. The major works of the project consist of construction of huge over-head water tanks in about 20 panchayaths in the district. The work undertaken by the firm was awarded by M/s Engineering Projects (India) Limited, a Government of India Undertaking. It is a 58 crores project. The firm has been able to complete the work in strict compliance within the scheduled time. Another is Idamalayar Irrigation Project, a project for the construction of Irrigation Main canals and structures awarded by the Water Resources Department, Govt. of Kerala which includes construction of bridges, under tunnels, huge excavation in hard rocks etc. The cost comes to Rs. 4.50 Crores. Another one is Muvattupuzha Valley Irrigation Project, which consisted of construction of Canal, the approximate length of the canal is about 8 Km. The project includes the transport of water from Malankara dam to Muvattupuzha Vallley for irrigation and drinking purposes.

Agritourism sector

Maryamtha holds vast experience in the highly challenging Kuttanad development projects, This project consists of two works under Kuttanad Package under Kerala Irrigation Department. The works involves regulation of flood water in Kayal area in C & D block and Rani Chithira Block. The project cost is 55 crores. This was a challenging job due to the environmental conditions in the Kuttanad region. The formation of bunds in the Vembanad Kayal was using precast RCC pile and slab. The project involves the development of area for agriculture purposes and in addition the beautification of back waters of Kuttanad. Another one is Boat Terminals at Alappuzha, which includes the Development of Boat Terminals at Kanjipadam, Nedumudy, Pallathuruthy, Thanneermukkom, Thottappally, Karumadi Vilakkumaram in Alappuzha District, Kerala. It is a Project under Kerala Irrigation Infrastructure Development Corporation. The work is envisaged to boost the tourism industry in Alappuzha area. Another project is the construction of RMP Thodu, It is for the construction of rubble mound wall for bank protection and dredging for de – silting the RMP Thodu at Puthuvypeen part I – dredging works, part II – construction works. It was a project awarded by the Cochin Port Trust.

Highways

The firm has completed a major work of 4 lane highway project at Palakkad and one hill highway at Idukki in addition to a lot of other projects of medium level. The work of 4 Laning of the Indira Gandhi Road at Wellington Island under Cochin Port Trust was successfully completed by the firm. Road connectivity to SEZ area at Puthuvypeen, this work was awarded by Cochin port trust to company on 2005. It envisaged the construction of road and Land development.

Pipeline works

Kuruppamthara Distributary line work consisted of supply and laying of distributary line at Kuruppamthara, Ernakulam. Another project is the Sewerage line at Kochi, It is the sewerage subcomponent of cochin corporation – construction of wet well 3, 7 and 8 and laying of pumping mains – package no.KCH-SS-03A.The project is awarded by Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Project, Cochin Corporation.

Land development works

Many major land development works in the highly challenging sites of Ernakulam, was taken up by Marymatha and successfully completed. Where all the typical methods were failing Marymatha had the advantage of having vast experience and expertise in this sector and completed the projects on time. The PDPP is a brand new endeavour of BPCL, it is their first step to the Chemical derivative industry. The development of 140 acres of land for the Propylene Derivative Petro-chemical Project (PDPP) is under our scope. The location of the site is at Ambalamughal, Ernakulam. Large numbers of most modern machineries are deployed for this fast track project. Land development works of this much magnitude are very rare in kerala. Vallarpadam road connectivity is a project for the construction of connectivity road between the Vallarpadam Container Terminal and National Highway. It is a project awarded by the Cochin Port Trust. Project cost comes to 84.50 crores and the firm completed this work successfully as a joint venture with Jaisu Shipping Company, Japan. Another challenging one was Ezhimala Naval Academy Project: This was a 13.50 crores project for the development work for the Naval Academy at Ezhimala. It was a challenging task due to the profile of land in the area containing hard rock. Another project was that of Power Grid Corporation project, the work was for a 400KV Substation awarded by the Power Grid Corporation of India for the development of land. Petronet LNG Terminal Development work, was a project at Puthuvypeen. The land development was very tedious due to its water logged condition. Land development work at Cochin Special Economic Zone consisted of RCC works, RR and DR works at Kakkanad, Kochi. We were a part of the prestigious Cochin International Airport Limited. The firm has been able to participate in the prideful venture of Kerala, the International Airport at Nedumbassery, by way of completing the construction work of lighting areas, peripheral roads, compound walls and land development works.

Ready mix plant and Rebar processing unit
